Barry Simmons, President/CEO, AlarmTeam

A decorated police officer with a degree in Criminal Justice, he entered the private sector in 1981. In 1988 he started AlarmTeam with the help of some key individuals and over the past twenty years built it into one of the nation's leading security companies. Mr. Simmons became an ADT Authorized Dealer in 1997 and is one of ADT's oldest and most respected dealers. AlarmTeam was proud to have partnered with Eversafe Security Systems in 2008 as the second largest producer of security systems in the nation which is now Safe Streets USA -- proud to be the home to so many team members fulfilling their dreams.

 

Todd Herman, President/CEO, Eversafe Security Systems

Mr. Herman was also CEO of Eversafe Security Systems, Inc. - an authorized ADT dealer since 2000. Mr. Herman is a graduate of the Washington University of St. Louis where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business and also graduated cum laude from Seton Hall School of Law. Prior to his current position he was the Managing Director of Matrix Security Systems, LLC and President of United Security Systems, Inc., both of which were large regional security companies engaged in both account creation and acquisitions. Both companies were sold to larger regional providers for in excess of $100 million. In addition, Mr. Herman has been a partner in a CPA firm where he specialized in the syndication and taxation of cable and real estate projects.

 

Michael Robson, Vice President of Sales Department

Michael Robson has been in the security sales industry for over 25 years. First building Medallion Security, a security door and window manufacturer with revenues exceeding 16 million a year when it was sold in 1996. Michael went on to form First Detection Systems, an ADT Authorized Dealer for home and small business security. First Detection continued to rank among the top ten dealers in the nation for seven years prior to its merge with AlarmTeam and Eversafe Security in 2008.

 

Joe Kenney, Senior Vice President/COO

Joe Kenney joined Alarm Team in 1998 bringing experience gained in two previous companies in executive management roles. A graduate with a degree in business from the University of North Carolina, he has a passion for building individuals and organizations and helping them reach their full potential through belief in the value of setting goals, hard work, continued self-education, and commitment to the well being of the organization, all team members, stake holders, and the customers it ultimately serves.

 

Carlos Cruz, Senior VP of Sales and Marketing

Carlos Cruz, Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Carlos has the responsibility to increase revenue by recruiting new marketing programs and generateing outside sales. Carlos was a vital part of EverSafe's growth since its inception in May of 2000 and assisted in leading Eversafe to the top ten of the Dealer Program for the past eight years. In 2002, Carlos was awarded the prestigious National Sales Manager of the Year award for the Dealer Program.

 

David Hall, VP of Finance

David Hall, Vice President of Finance
David Hall joined the team in April 2009 as Vice President of Finance. Prior to joining the Safe Streets USA team, David worked for a large regional waste management company in which he held various positions including Internal Auditor, Payroll Manager and lastly Area Controller. David holds a BSBA degree in Accounting and Finance from East Carolina University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Institute of CPA's and the North Carolina Association of CPA's.

 

Johnny York, VP of Installations

Johnny began his career in the security industry in 1980.  Before that, he completed four and one half years in the Army as a German Translator. He then received his Associates in Civil Engineering from Gaston College.  He was the part-owner of his own security installation company. He joined Safe Streets USA in 1998 as the Operations Manager of the Commercial Division.  He transferred to the residential division in 2001 where he set up standards for installation and training.  He is now the Director of Technical and Support Services where is oversees inventory, recruitment, training of new and existing technicians, and the licensing and registration of Safe Streets USA and all the employees in a twenty-six state area.   

Ed Simanskis, Director of IT
Ed joined Safe Streets USA in 2010 as Director of IT and brings over 20 years experience in leading multi-site software and hardware development teams.  Prior to Safe Streets USA, Ed worked in the multi-level marketing, financial, healthcare, storage and telecom industries.  Ed holds a Bachelors of Mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo, Canada.
